How it works

The Amazon Fire TV + HD Antenna Bundle comes with three separate products: Amazon Fire TV, an AmazonBasics Ultra Thin Indoor HDTV Antenna, and an AmazonBasics HDMI cable (6 feet). When you use these devices together, you can access great television shows and movies without cable. Fire TV lets you stream TV shows and movies from Amazon Video, Netflix, HBO NOW, and more, while the AmazonBasics HD Antenna receives free over-the-air HD local broadcast content from stations like ABC, CBS, NBC, and FOX. Note that these devices are not integrated; it does require switching inputs with your remote to access the content you want to watch. An internet service subscription is required.

HD Antenna

Toggle from your Amazon Fire TV to the HD Antenna input, which lets you pick up free broadcast high-definition TV signals in your area. Watch live sports, local news and your favorite morning shows on networks like ABC, CBS, NBC, and FOX. It’s a great way to watch all the free local broadcast TV you want.

Network TV, plus popular cable channels

With the AmazonBasics Ultra Thin Indoor HDTV Antenna, you can watch network shows like Good Morning America, live sports, local news, and late-night programming like The Tonight Show without a cable subscription. Plus, with a subscription to Sling TV, you can watch popular cable channels like AMC, ABC Family, TNT, Food Network, Cartoon Network, HGTV, and more.

Save when you stream

Get access to your favorite shows with subscriptions to Netflix, Hulu and HBO NOW; no cable required. Plus, Amazon Prime members get unlimited access to Prime Video, and apps like NBC News and Pluto can give you even more great content at no additional charge.

Amazon Fire TV now brings you 4K Ultra High Definition streaming capability, giving you a best-in-class television experience with true-to-life picture quality when used with compatible 4K Ultra HD TVs—something Apple TV, and Chromecast don’t support. Your 4K TV must support minimum HDCP requirements for protected content playback.

Amazon Fire TV is built to support High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC). Over the coming months, Amazon Fire TV will deliver more 1080p high-definition streams from Amazon Video than ever before—even if you don’t own a 4K TV. HEVC is approximately 2x more efficient at encoding video than the current industry standard, which means less bandwidth is needed to deliver high-quality video streams. As a result, the majority of Fire TV customers will now experience more high-quality, 1080p streams from Amazon Video.
